Feile Champions
Congratulations to our U14 hurlers who were victorious in the Feile final on Sunday in the Faithful Fields. The lads defeated St Rynagh’s in the Semi Final first that morning by 1-6 to 1-2 to set up a final meeting with Birr. The final was an excellent encounter which went to the wire. K/K played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and had established a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 10 minutes. Birr then finished to the net for the first goal of the game just before the break to leave just one in it at the interval. It remained tight between the sides for the second half as K/K defended brilliantly. The sides were level heading for the final minute when Colin Spain struck a ball into the square which went all the way to the net to secure the victory by 1-7 to 1-4.  The lads will now go on to represent Offaly in June at the Feile and will be hosted by Michael Cusacks GAA in Galway. Congratulations to all the players and management.

Intermediate Football
Hard luck to our Intermediate footballers who lost out by the narrowest of margins 1-13 to 1-12 on Thursday evening last in Cappincur after an entertaining game against Daingean. Daingean got the first point of the game in the 2nd minute before Conor Lowry struck K/K’s goal after a well worked move in the 8th minute. Points from Shane Guinan and Peter Geraghty (free) in between two Daingean points left it 1-2 to 0-3 after 15 minutes. Daingean hit the next four points in a row from the 21st to the 24th minute before Stephen Leonard got a good score to bring the gap back to one again. The sides traded the last couple of points of the half to leave it 0-8 to 1-4 at half time. K/K started the second half very well with a pair of frees from Conor Lowry either side of a point from Dylan Murray to go two points in front. Peter Geraghty then got a very harsh second yellow card in the 40th minute. The sides traded the next couple of points before Daingean struck for their goal in the 45th minute and followed it up with a point two minutes later to move two clear. Conor Lowry struck another brace of frees to level the game again in the 53rd minute. The sides were still level heading for the final minute before Daingean hit the next two points. Stephen Leonard pointed in the second minute of injury time but the equalizer was not to come and Daingean ran out one point winners. Team & Scorers: John Deevey, Peter Grogan, James Geraghty, Stephen Leonard (0-2), Eoghan Donoghue, Damien Kilmartin, Peter Troy, Ger Healion, Jordan Quinn, Peter Geraghty (0-1f), Shane Guinan (0-1), Conor Quinn, Conor Lowry (1-6, 0-6f), Dylan Murray (0-2, 1f), Sean Tooher.
