Congratulations to our Minor hurlers and management who have qualified for the Semi Final after an exciting 0-21 to 3-11 Quarter Final victory over Seir Kieran/Drumcullen on Sunday morning in Kinnitty. Conor Quinn had got K/K off the mark with an early point but SK/D hit their 1st goal from the penalty spot in the 3rd minute and they followed up with a point to lead 1-1 to 0-1 after 5 minutes. K/K took control of the game over the next 15 minutes and despite conceding their 2nd goal in the 11th minute, K/K scored nine points either side of the goal to move ahead by 0-10 to 2-2 after 20 minutes with Cathal Kiely (5), Bryan Mullen, Conor Lowry, Lochlann Kavanagh and Ciaran Moore all getting points. The sides traded the last three scores of the half to leave K/K 0-13 to 2-5 ahead at the break. K/K remained ahead as the 2nd half progressed with Cathal Kiely, Lochlann Kavanagh, Bryan Mullen all chipping in with points. By the 55th minute, K/K had moved 0-21 to 2-9 clear but SK/D didn’t give up and finished very strongly. They tagged on a couple of pointed frees and then hit their 3rd goal of the game in the 2nd minute of injury time to leave a nervous final minute but K/K held on for the one point win. Team & Scorers: Rory Gleeson, Eamon Bracken, Shane Mulrooney, Eoin Troy, Bryan Mullen (0-2), Eoin Gleeson, Cathal Donoghue, Conor Lowry (0-1), Joe Daly, Cathal Kiely (0-13, 6f, 1 ’65), Ciaran Moore (0-2), Conor Quinn (0-1), Niall Egan, Lochlann Kavanagh (0-2), Kevin Daly.
