Senior Hurling
Well done to our Senior hurlers who had a 0-15 to 0-14 win against Kinnitty on Saturday evening in Tullamore. K/K got the first score of the game through Peter Geraghty and the sides were level at 0-2 each after 10 minutes. K/K failed to score for the next 10 minutes as Kinnitty moved three points clear and that was the gap at the break as Kinnitty went in leading by 0-10 to 0-7 with Dan Currams, Cillian Kiely and Thomas Geraghty all getting points for K/K. Kinnitty got the first point just after the restart to move four points clear but K/K then replied with four points in a row to level the game up by the 42nd minute with points from Ciaran Slevin, Peter Geraghty and Conor Mahon. Kinnitty went on to score three of the next four points to lead by 0-14 to 0-12 with 10 minutes to go but K/K fought back and a long range free from Conor Slevin and another from Cillian Kiely levelled things up before Conor Mahon’s 3rd point of the game in the 55th minute proved to be the winner as K/K held on for the victory. Team & Scorers: Conor Slevin (0-1f), Shaun Lowry, Kevin Grogan, Alan McConville, Jordan Quinn, Damien Kilmartin, Enda Grogan, Thomas Geraghty (0-1), Killian Leonard, Peter Geraghty (0-2), Peter Healion, Cillian Kiely (0-5, 4f), Ciaran Slevin (0-1), Conor Mahon (0-3), Dan Currams (0-1). Intermediate Hurling
Hard luck to our Intermediate hurlers who lost out by 1-14 to 1-13 against Seir Kieran on Saturday evening in Tullamore. A great goal from Alan Spain midway through the first half helped K/K get into a 1-3 to 0-4 lead. The teams traded the next few points with Conor Quinn, Mikey Ryan and Dylan Young all getting points before Seir Kieran got their goal to level the game at 1-6 each. Mikey Ryan and Rodge Deegan got the next two points with Seir Kieran finishing off the half with a point to leave K/K 1-8 to 1-7 at the break. The sides were level on six different occasions in the second half with the difference never any more than one point either way with Rodge Deegan, Shane Guinan, Brian Mahon and Conor Quinn all getting scores but a pointed free from Seir Kieran in the 2nd minute of injury time proved to be the winner. The sides traded scores throughout the first half with never more than a couple between them as K/K led by the minimum at the break, 0-7 to 0-6.
