Junior B Hurling
Well done to our Junior B hurlers who maintained a 100% start to the championship with a 1-16 to 2-9 victory over Coolderry in Coolderry on Sunday morning last. K/K got off to a great start with an early goal from Paul Guinan. Points followed from Paul Commins, Barry Gorman, Conor Lowry and Paul Guinan to leave K/K 1-4 to no score ahead after 15 minutes. Coolderry got off the mark soon after and got their first goal in the 20th minute to bring the gap back to two. The sides traded the last couple of points of the half, with Paul Commins getting both for K/K, to leave it 1-7 to 1-5 at the break. Coolderry had the gap reduced to a point, 1-9 to 1-8 after ten minutes of the second half but K/K had a strong next quarter as they got seven of the next eight points to move 1-16 to 1-9 clear before Coolderry got their second goal with four minutes to go but K/K held on for the win. Team & Scorers: John Deevey, Alan Conroy, Kevin Rigney, Peter Grogan, Daithi Guinan (0-1),  Colm Cassidy, Kevin Ryan, Martin Murray, Peter Troy (0-1), Brendan O’Malley (0-1), Paul Guinan (1-1), Conor Lowry (0-6, 5f), Paul Leonard, Barry Gorman (0-1), Paul Commins (0-5).
